Microsoft Edge Dev build 94.0.982.2 introduces a new option in the Immersive Reader to make the columns of text wider than they currently are, therefore making the whole thing easier to read.
Microsoft explains this update also enables SSO on Linux, while also re-enabling tab sharing capabilities in WebView2 apps.
Then, it also comes with a settings page for accessibility options, as well as with an entry to the Share popup in the context menu, which means it’s now a little bit easier to share content.
Plenty of fixes and improvements
Just like any other Dev build, this new release addresses several important crashes, including one causing when selecting tabs on macOS using the Touch Bar. Furthermore, Microsoft says a glitch causing the browser to crash when closing the app with an open popup.
“Our Media team has received a number of reports regarding a potential bug, so we wanted to loop you in on our findings. We’ve heard that a number of users who have the AdBlock (Plus) or Adblock for Youtube extensions installed are running into errors on YouTube videos. If you’re experiencing this bug, you will likely encounter a black screen on the video player when attempting to load a video on YouTube. We’ve found that this behavior is happening on all operating systems and all Microsoft Edge channels,” the company says.
On the other hand, the glitch that causes errors on YouTube is still there, and Microsoft says disabling some extensions is, unfortunately, the only way to go right now.
Keep in mind this is still a Dev build, so other issues besides the one mentioned in the changelog could still exist in the browser.
