New Delhi: The Comptroller General (CGA) of the Ministry of Finance has issued a new Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for effective recourse to public complaints, strictly within specified deadlines.
It requires that all public and retiree grievances received at the CGA office by letter, email or fax, invariably be routed through the Public Grievance Officer (PGO) before sending them to the relevant Sections / Divisions. and grievances received other than through The PG Portal or emails must necessarily be acknowledged, with an interim response within three days.
The POS also states that every effort should be made to remedy public grievances within 30 days. If this deadline is not respected, the grievor must be informed of the expected delay and the deadline for resolving the grievance. This must be done with the approval of the joint AMC.
