HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The Pennsylvania Department of Health responded to an abc27 investigation that found Pennsylvania was behind other states in administering the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“I appreciate your follow-up as there are different views on this,” said Barry Ciccocioppo, Covid press secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Last week, abc27 investigators dug. We wanted to know how Pennsylvania compares to its neighboring states in terms of the percentage of the population that has ever received a first dose of the vaccine.
West Virginia led the list with 14% of its population receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Pennsylvania was at the bottom, behind Ohio and New York, at 10.6%.
