NASCAR games will start running on Switch from 2021

The Nintendo Switch has amassed an incredible amount of racing titles large and small over the years. However, one franchise has managed to drift under the radar of the successful hybrid: NASCAR. The famous racing league had a consistent version of the license games produced for several years now, but there hasn’t been a single one to honor the Nintendo Switch since the system was released in 2017. Everything will change from this year.

Motorsport.com recently conducted an interview with the CEO of Motorsport Games, Dmitry Kozko. There he spoke about his company’s future plans. One of those plans is to finally start supporting the Nintendo Switch.

Kozko made it clear in the interview that his company would publish “a few more games and expand our platforms ”. He keeps on:

“One thing we’re actively working on is bringing NASCAR to the Nintendo Switch platform.”

The exit of NASCAR games on Nintendo’s console seems to be a top priority for Kozko and his company. He explains that motorsport Games is “excited about this”. Kozko further mentioned that breaking through the Switch will allow the company games be appreciated by a younger demographic, that his company and NASCAR “are excited about this decision.”

Sports car Games are responsible for the publication of games in the NASCAR Heat franchise. While the franchise has been around for a while now, it hasn’t hit a Nintendo platform at all. There are other NASCAR licenses games, but the franchise as a whole hasn’t been seen on a Nintendo platform since 2012 during the days of the original Wii.

The final title was NACAR: The Game: Inside Line launched on Wii in November 2012. It was developed by Eutechnyx and published by Activision. This means that it’s been almost a decade since a NASCAR game on a Nintendo console. Hoping for the next NASCAR Heat game is able to do a solid job of reintroducing the series to Nintendo fans. Last year, NASCAR Heat 5 received average to below par reviews, so hopefully the developers will be able to hone their skills this time around.
