BISMARCK — The North Dakota Legislature is contemplating a monthly bill that would help cover charges for partners searching to adopt, but only if the pair adopting is married and heterosexual.
The bill also covers being pregnant charges when a mother determined to make an adoption prepare for their baby.
The North Dakota Human Rights Coalition opposes the bill, indicating it excludes one mother and father, unmarried couples and same-intercourse couples, retaining small children out of loving households.
The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jeff Hoverson, R-Minot, states that he selected to only include heterosexual partners to acquire help of religious members of the Dwelling.
