(Nebraska City) – Public health officials in southeastern Nebraska are closely monitoring possible variants of COVID-19 entering the region.
Grant Brueggeman is executive director of the Southeast District Health Department. Speaking at the Nebraska City Board of Health meeting on Monday afternoon, Brueggeman said cases of the coronavirus variants in the UK and California have been confirmed in other parts of the state – including including Douglas County. However, he says the variants have not been reported in southeastern Nebraska.
