CHANDLER, AZ – It’s been more it’s been a week since 13-year-old Everett Watson Jr. was gunned down while playing basketball in San Tan Park, Cooper and Frye Roads in Chandler with his three brothers.
Watson Jr. was shot twice, one bullet in each leg. He’s out of the woods, but his family still doesn’t know how severe his injuries will be after his release from Phoenix Children’s.
“There was no confrontation,” said Jenee Komso, who lives next to the Watson family. “No one knows these people. They just came, they shot the situation and they left and it doesn’t make sense.
Komso heard what she thought were firecrackers that Sunday night, but didn’t find out what happened to Watson Jr. until early Monday morning.
