Representative John Lewis, the late Congressman, civil rights icon and brother of the fraternity, once said, “Every generation leaves a legacy. What this legacy will be is determined by the people of this generation. What legacy do you want to leave behind? “
History reminds us that Lewis used his influence and wisdom to ensure that future generations of African Americans did not have to endure the same struggles as his own generation.
