Two years ago, Tetris 99 was announced, bringing a different spin to the franchise by making it into a battle royale. Last year, in celebration of Super Mario Bros.’s 35th anniversary, a new battle royale version was released, similar to Tetris 99. Today, Nintendo has released the next old-school game to get the battle royale treatment, Pac-Man 99. Like Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35 when it was available to play, the game is only available for Nintendo Switch Online members. The way Pac-Man 99 works is similar to Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35. As you eat a power pellet to turn ghosts blue and eat them when they are vulnerable, you’ll send Jammer Pac-Man to your opponents. The more ghosts you eat, the more Jammers you’ll send. There are eight different preset strategies that you can employ to be the last Pac-Man standing. you can speed up, send extra Jammers, and more. Switching at the right time can give you an edge over your opponents. Eating a ghost train can be particularly effective. Power-ups include Standard, Train, Stronger, and Speed. Players can also dictate how you target other players. These options are Counter, Random, Hunter, and Knockout.
