Passion for Poultry Leads to Great Results for Senior Animal Science

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – Participation in 4-H and a part-time job in the poultry industry created a bright future for Lindsey Bright, leading her to Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and the Penn State Poultry Education and Research Center.

After graduating from Penn State in May, Bright, of Quakertown, Pa., Will begin her career as a service technician at Dutchland Farms, an egg wholesaling, pullet rearing and service company. herds at Elizabethtown.

“I am very excited for this next step in my career and am grateful for the preparation and experiences that Penn State and the college poultry center have given me,” she said.

Before coming to Penn State, Bright got her first glimpse of the poultry industry through a high school job at Moyer Chicks in Quakertown, where she learned hatchery processes including moving eggs into incubators. , sexing and vaccination of chicks, and counting of chicks before shipping them to the United States.

Lindsey Bright is looking forward to starting her career in the poultry industry after graduating in May.
