MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday urged Filipinos to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as the Philippines receives their first shipment of Covid-19 vaccines from Chinese company Sinovac Biotech.
“To my fellow Filipinos, please put your fears aside. These vaccines are backed by science and deliberated by our experts. Filipino experts, ”he said in a speech at the vaccine handover ceremony.
“I encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible. And be our partner in preventing the spread of the disease, ”added the President.
Meanwhile, addressing those who get vaccinated, Duterte reminded them that they should always follow strict health protocols like wearing masks and observing social distancing.
“Your cooperation here is essential and will undoubtedly save many lives. [the way],” he said.
