Led by record REIT net inflows of Rs 1.41.915 crore in domestic stocks in the third quarter of this fiscal year, REIT’s stake in NSE-listed companies hit a five-year high of 22.74% at the end of December 2020, up from 21.51 percent as of September 30, 2020. The former high level of REIT holdings in listed companies was observed in December 2015, when it stood at 23. 01 percent.
According to data sourced from primeinfobase.com, an initiative of the Prime Database Group, foreign portfolio investor (REIT) ownership jumped 1.23 percentage points – the largest quarter-on-quarter increase in seven years – as their stake rose from 21.51% last September to 22.74 percent in December 2020.
During the quarter ended March 2013, REITs had invested a net of Rs 55,622 crore, resulting in a 1.32 percentage point jump in their stake, from 19.54 in December 2012 to 20.86%.
