Governor Pete Ricketts addressed the Biden administration’s agenda on climate, conservation and the environment, promising that Nebraska “will stand up against the excesses of the federal government to protect our family farms and our way of life. life”.
In a statement published in news media, Ricketts said, “Nebraskans should be alert in their communities to attempts by federal agencies and their partners to regulate land and water use.
“From Canceling the presidential authorization for the Keystone XL pipeline to join the Paris Agreement, the Biden administration has taken a number of steps that undermine security, energy independence and American working families, ”said the governor.
Biden’s recent executive order “blocks significant amounts of oil and gas development and outlines far-reaching plans to lock up staggering portions of our nation’s land and natural resources,” Ricketts said.
“Federal interventions that claim to be conservation-oriented or that regulate the use of land and natural resources are only likely to harm agriculture and hamper the growth of our economy,” he said.
Biden signed an executive order on Jan. 27 dealing with “the climate crisis at home and abroad.”
