A growing list of companies are suspending political contributions in response to opposition to President-elect Joe Biden’s certification of the Electoral College and the Capitol riot by Trump supporters on Wednesday.

Citigroup announced its decision to temporarily suspend all federal PAC donations until the first quarter of 2021 in an internal employee memo on Friday.

“We want you to be assured that we will not support candidates who do not respect the rule of law,” wrote Candida Wolff, CEO of Citigroup and head of global government affairs. “We intend to suspend our contributions during the quarter as the country goes through the presidential transition and hopefully emerges from these events stronger and more united.”
