ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Local leaders of the Roanoke Alleghany Health District hosted a virtual discussion on Tuesday on health equity and vaccine distribution in the Roanoke Valley.
Dr Cynthia Morrow led the conversation on Zoom, which was also broadcast live on WDBJ7 Facebook page. Dr Morrow, as well as local leaders like Mayor Sherman Lea, City of Roanoke Director Bob Cowell, and Dr NL Bishop, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Carilion Clinic.
They discussed the partnerships they were developing to encourage vaccine registration in the community, while highlighting barriers to health equity.
