ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – The Salvation Army Roanoke and LewisGale Medical Center have teamed up for the first time to host a free community health fair.
Together the two provided health information on many topics, including how to find a doctor.
Participants were able to do most of the things they could do in a doctor’s office.
The Salvation Army says that since the start of the pandemic, it has seen access to family health care decline due to job loss, and it is one way to help those who have been affected.
“The community is really struggling it’s neighbors or friends, there are family, this event is about community health and the community and keeps them against information and resources so they can find a provider and get back to a healthier life, ”said Tesa Price-Clark, volunteer and special events coordinator.
