CONCORD, NH (AP) – US Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire introduces a bill to improve access to health care by reducing premiums and deductibles for low- and middle-income families.
She said in a statement on Friday that the Health Insurance Affordability Improvement Act would extend coverage to more over 4 million people who are currently uninsured and are reducing healthcare costs for millions of people more who already have coverage.
The bill would expand eligibility for the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits to market health insurance coverage for people who are not currently eligible. This would also make the premium tax credits more full for those who are currently eligible.
