MAGGIE VALLEY – For Candra Smith, who will be celebrating her company’s seventh anniversary, Maggie Valley Wellness Center this year, 2021 allows her to start the New Year with hope and gratitude.
Grateful because Smith said she discovered a day-to-day theme of the pandemic.
“I have been in this event which seems so isolating to me and you feel so alone,” she said. “I’ve had connections with people who have really uplifted me in my business or in my personal life, and I’ve learned that in everything we do, there is a reaction. Our decisions matter. I really need this support and I try to market it and offer it to others.
Gratitude plays into Smith’s story in another way as well, in the form of a government PPP loan she was able to secure for her business.
