Black Hills State University is gearing up for their annual Swarm Days celebration, with this year’s theme being “Sting in Space.” The week-long event, running from October 2-7, brings together students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the community to celebrate tradition and school spirit. Highlights of the festivities include the coronation and burning of the BH, alumni awards luncheon, Hall of Fame banquet, parade, and a football game against New Mexico Highlands University. The parade route has been updated this year, starting at the Young Center parking lot and ending at Grant Street.

Black Hills State University is once again gearing up for their highly anticipated Swarm Days celebration. From October 2-7, students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the community will come together to celebrate tradition and school spirit. This year’s theme, “Sting in Space,” promises an out-of-this-world experience.
Exciting Events and Activities
Swarm Days will be filled with a range of exciting events and activities for everyone to enjoy. The week kicks off with the coronation and burning of the BH, where the new royalty will be crowned. Alumni can look forward to the alumni awards luncheon and the Hall of Fame banquet, honoring outstanding individuals. The highlight of the celebration is the parade, which will feature elaborate floats and marching bands, followed by a tailgate social and the highly anticipated football game against New Mexico Highlands University.
New Parade Route
This year, the parade route has been updated to provide a better experience for spectators. Starting at the Young Center parking lot, the parade will travel south down St. Joe before turning onto Jackson Blvd towards Main Street. The parade will then continue on Main Street and end at Grant Street. Be sure to find a good spot along the route to catch all the excitement!
