SPENCER – Spencer greeted his last two recruits at Tuesday night’s council of aldermen meeting.
Faith Wilson is the city’s new finance officer and James Osborne takes charge of code enforcement for the city. The city publicly announced Wilson’s hiring in December, and it was the first appearance at a council meeting. John Sofley, former Deputy Town Manager of Salisbury, was hired to help the town with its budget before Dave Treme was interim installed as Town Manager and stayed temporarily to help with the town’s finances.
Wilson said she was happy to be at Spencer. Previously, she worked with Thomasville City Schools as a financial assistant.
“I am delighted to be here,” Wilson said.
Meanwhile, the city contracted for private application services with the intention of bringing the department back in-house later.
