The ball bounced between wins and losses for the Gilmour boys’ basketball team. Even in these losses, the Lancers have found ways to build on them.
Gilmour did this and more on Jan.16 against Harvey.
Led by a fiery defensive effort, the Lancers never followed the visiting Red Raiders in a 54-24 victory.
The Lancers improved to 5-4 and avoided losing back-to-back games for what would have been the first time this season. Harvey fell to 1-5.
“We put in a big effort last night,” Gilmour head coach Dan DeCrane said after the game. “We didn’t want this effort to decrease at all. We wanted to build on a strong performance even though it was a loss to Lorain. We wanted to go out with the same intensity.
“On the defensive end in particular, we have done the job in different facets and I was delighted to see that.
