For almost a year, the folks at Roosters Bar & Grill have been working hard to transform an old restaurant into a modern sports bar that people can enjoy. And they’re finally ready to show it off.
“We’re so excited. (Opening) is when you see all of your hard work paying off. I’m ready to see this place full,” said Adam Smith, co-owner of Roosters Bar & Grill.
Smith and his staff of 25 are putting the finishing touches to the new sports bar this week for a grand opening slated for March 1.
Located at 139 E. College Ave., Roosters is found in what was once a well-known pizza place. But the traces of the old space are long gone. In their place is a dining room that seats 99, built around a bar at chest height.
“Everything here had to be completely gutted and rebuilt. Only the walls, ceiling and floors are original, ”said Wendy Thrift, Deputy Director.
There is no space on the floor that is not in line of sight of one of the five Roosters TVs, each of which can broadcast game customers want to see while they eat.
The rear of the building is fitted with a newly furnished kitchen, where staff will prepare a variety of items ranging from cheese burgers and wings to cheese and chicken steak …
