Some things are inevitable: death, taxes, and people who will tell you that the best player in the NFL Draft is actually not the best player in the NFL Draft.
The latter is currently coming to Trevor Lawrence, the former Clemson quarterback who has been crowned the best professional prospect in recent years.
Yet while everyone was quick to try and be the first to tell you that he was the next Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck as a prospect, Lawrence somewhere built upsetting views. But that’s how it’s always been in the NFL.
Someone somewhere said Ryan Leaf would be a better pro than Manning in 1999. Two decades later people tried to talk the Arizona Cardinals out of writing QB Kyler Murray, even after hiring an offensive coach. and charted their course.
So it’s no surprise that BYU’s Zach Wilson or Ohio State’s Justin Fields or North Dakota’s Trey Lance are all better options than Lawrence at No.1 for some. However, these people are simply wrong and are probably looking for attention.
