Arizona State’s No.4 Water Polo (5-2) hosted two top-10 teams in Tempe on Friday. The Sun Devils stayed close to No.1 USC (2-0) and No.6 Michigan (5-0), but ultimately fell in both clashes.
First game Against the Trojans, the first half was neck and neck before USC pulled out for a 16-8 victory. The Sun Devils went on a 3-0 run to tie the game at seven before USC closed the halftime with a goal to head to the leading halftime by one. The Trojan’s third period changed everything by beating ASU 6-1 and allowing just one goal in the second half. The Sun Devils struggled on power play chances, going 1-9.
