Gary moved to Lakewood N.Y., with the love of his life, his wife Joan. Gary was an exceptional husband and father and an exceptional friend to all he met. Gary knew how to help people when they needed it. He was generous and kind to everyone, with a fun-loving personality that just naturally drew people to him. Gary listened when people spoke to him with a sincere interest. Gary truly felt he was put on this earth to help offer support to anyone and everyone that was in need. Serving six years in the U.S. Air Force with two years in Vietnam, Gary was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in 1966. Gary’s personality and good business sense made him a great businessman, who also always contributed generously to local organizations and groups. Gary was a commissioner of Jamestown Midget Football, served in Jamestown Lions Club with one year as district governor and was a member of the Jamestown Masonic Temple.

Gerald H. Greenwood | News, Sports, Jobs His accomplishments were many in the business world. During the 1970s and the 1980s, Gary owned and operated the Red Baron Game Room and the Outer Limits Game Room. Later before retiring he would own and operate Gary’s Trophy House. So many friends were met, and because of his wonderful personality and love of people, to Gary that was a success in every way. He worked after retiring as a school bus driver in Panama, N.Y., often saying “my face is often the first face these kids see in the morning,” feeling he would make a difference in their day.

A message from Gary: Keep peace with your soul with all its sham-drudgery and broken dreams.

Be at peace with God whatever you conceive him to be and whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of Life. Gary is survived by his loving family, his loving and devoted wife Joan Greenwood, four sons: Scott (Paul) Houston, Texas, Todd (Eva) Boston, Mass., Gary Jr. (Laura) Wake Forest, NC., and Jason (Jenny) Independence Ky.; three stepchildren: Pamela Tumminia (Andy) Englewood, Fla., Kate Jackson (Jason) Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Chad Peterson (Christine) Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Cindy Sheldon Frewsburg, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren.

It is still a Beautiful World, be careful and strive to be happy. Source www.post-journal.com
