Welcome to hockey with a view of the mountains and the water.
The first of two outdoors in the NHL games set to be played this weekend along the scenic coastline of Lake Tahoe, the Las Vegas Golden Knights take on the Colorado avalanche.
This season’s outdoor experience will be unlike anything hockey fans have ever seen, and without fans in attendance, the game will be covered from all angles for spectators at home to enjoy.
The Knights compete in their first outdoor competition, while the Avalanches are seasoned veterans of the great outdoors, with Saturday marking their third game.
Las Vegas and Colorado have seen each other a lot lately. Saturday marks the third of four consecutive meetings between the two teams in nine days.
Fans at home love the view.
Some fans are on site after all, as viewers were creative on how to watch game crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe.
The Avalanche took the lead early when Samuel Girard scored his second career away goal in the first period, assisted by Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
Goalkeeper Marc-André Fleury tried to follow the puck, but it didn’t quite bounce in its path.
