TYRO – Two strong middle quarterbacks helped Ledford pass West Davidson 83-55 in Carolina Central Conference men’s basketball 2A.
Alex Reece scored 19 points to lead the Panthers (3-0 overall, 1-0 CCC), who beat the Green Dragons 52-28 in the second and third quarters. Tyler Partee added 15 points and 10 assists, followed by Colt Rumley with 14 points and Owen Finley with 13 points and eight rebounds.
In the girls’ game, Ledford led early on to claim a 51-21 victory. Ashley Limbacher scored 13 points to lead the Panthers (3-0, 1-0), who led 12-5 after a quarter and 27-7 at halftime. Morgan Harrison has eight points, and Layla Sands and Madi Flynt each have six.
