Boys have ruled the sport of wrestling until now. In the state of Colorado, girl wrestling is finally a sanctioned college sport.
“It was like you were being bullied for being on a boys ‘team or playing a boys’ sport,” said Madison Farris, sophomore at Horizon. “Now that it’s a sanctioned sport and it’s also a women’s sport, you can say that I don’t play a men’s sport, I play my sport.
The Legacy Girls Wrestling is made up of five different schools (Mountain Range, Northglenn, Horizon, Thornton, and Legacy), giving girls the chance to put girls on the map.
