The third edition of the Sport Public Relations Handbook reflects the evolution of the field with modern applications across a wide range of media channels.
Steve Dittmore, associate dean for outreach and innovation at the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, is one of the book’s four authors and has been a co-author of each of the two previous editions.
Dittmore, who is also a professor of recreation and sports management and an affiliate member of the Center for Communication Research, said: “It’s a complete reboot from 2012, designed to focus on social media. The emphasis is on understanding the power that organizations need to be their own media companies. “
