His project was the planning, fundraising and constructing of six picnic benches for On Target Outfitters. “New programs and camps are offered every year as On Target grows. The benches will be used for upcoming summer camps for years to come,” he said. A lot of what happens at On Target fits the passions of McNally. He enjoys riflery, fishing, and hunting, as well as drawing, sketching and Origami.

Scout builds picnic tables to rise to Eagle | News, Sports, Jobs On July 28, McNally, son of Tom and Sharr McNally of Canfield, will attend an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in the sanctuary of the Canfield United Methodist Church as he becomes BSA Troop 9025’s 187th Eagle Scout.

McNally joined BSA Troop 9025 in 2014. Over the past seven years he has served the troop as leader, historian, scribe, senior patrol leader and quartermaster. In the last few years, McNally earned his way by working several jobs. He worked two years at Ohio Structures’ fabrication plant, parked cars at the Canfield Fair, shoveled driveways and sidewalks in the winter, and did various landscaping Jobs.

Among his many activities were Camp Seven Ranges summer camp for five years, Troop 9025 Survival Camp, a 50-mile canoe trip on the Allegheny River, attended Troop 9025 Caveman Camp, Gettysburg historical hike, attended the Conneaut D-Day World War II Re-enactment, was a four-year participant at the district Klondike Derby, and Troop 9025 Junior Leadership Training at Camp Stambaugh. For his Eagle qualifications, McNally had to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges. He finished with 22.

McNally graduated this spring from Canfield High School where he was a three-year wrestler, an eight-year choir member since the fifth grade, was a three-year member of the special chamber ensemble choir. He was also recognized as a gifted math student, and held a perfect score for chamber ensemble choir in competition. For the future, he already has his plans laid out.
