CHAMPAIGN – Illinois football has lost another player on the transfer portal this offseason as senior wide receiver Trevon Sidney decides to leave the Illini.
Sidney joined the Illini in 2019 after spending three seasons in Southern California. He made a quick impact at Champaign-Urbana as a junior redshirt, registering 16 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in five games.
But the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Sidney missed the last eight games of the season with injury and didn’t play at all during the 2020 season due to injury.
Sidney, from Pasadena, Calif., Joins linebacker Delano Ware, running back Kenyon Sims, defensive lineman Owen Carney Jr. and tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe as Illini who entered the portal of the transfers in the last two months.
