Sportsbook's worst bad beats of the week: Frenzy kills the Knicks under

Life is too short to bet under.

Here are the worst bad beats of the week in sports betting:

3. Less than 216½ Nuggets-Suns

Total bettors are used to losing pennies in overtime. It happens. But to double overtime?

Denver and Phoenix were tied at 98 at the end of settlement Saturday, leaving punters under with 20 points to work. The Nuggets led 106-103 in the dying seconds, but the Suns’ Jae Crowder put in a 27-footer with 1.3 seconds left to force the double OT.

Goodbye, under. The Nuggets ended up winning 120-112.

2. Less than 26 ½ bucket-packers 1H

The Packers have significantly reduced their chances of winning the NFC Championship game in the dying seconds of the first half on Sunday, and they took the punters with them.

Trailing 14-10, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw an interception in midfield with 25 seconds remaining. A field goal would kill the sub, but Tampa Bay only gained six yards and looked ready to clear with 13 seconds left.

The Buccaneers reconsidered and Tom Brady hit Leonard Fournette for six yards to pick up a first down at Green Bay 39 with eight seconds left in the half. With no downtime, the Bucs could try to work the sideline, but it looked like they would have to settle for a long basket attempt.

Inexplicably, Packers cornerback Kevin King let Bucs wide receiver Scotty Miller pass right by him and grab a 39-yard TD with a second left. Tampa Bay led 21-10 en route to a 31-26 victory. More punters rejoiced.

1. Less than 105 Knicks-Blazers 2H

The ends of the basketball games can apparently take forever with the cycle of fouls and free throws. Then there’s New York-Portland on Sunday game.

The Trail Blazers led 106-99 with 1:33 left in the fourth quarter. A total of 85 points were scored in the second half. An unlikely rally to force extra time seemed the only way for the second half to lose.

But the Knicks kept shooting, and the Blazers kept throwing free throws, bouncing the deficit from six points to four and back.

With the frenzy over, Portland held on for a 116-113 win. The teams scored 24 points in the final 1:33 – yes, 24 – combining to make all 16 of their free throw attempts.

And the second half on the bettors won with free space at 109.
