Justin Barcia is the hero of Supercross Round 1 for the third year in a row after repelling a determined charge from Ken Roczen for the final five minutes. Barcia are happy to have won the first game of the season in the past two seasons, but they are hoping to break another cycle. Two years ago, he won the season opener, but failed to return to the podium in 2019.
Barcia won the season opener at Anaheim last year, but this time he kept his momentum for a while. He finished second at Saint Louis to get off to a great start to the season, but fell to fifth overall at the end of the year.
Barcia has good reason to believe this year will be different as his circumstances have changed. Making his debut for the GasGas Factory Racing team, Barcia gave them a sweep for the night, winning his race before taking the Feature race.
