Two Trojans win District 3 wrestling titles |  Sports

SPRING GROVE, Pa. – Karl Shindledecker (120 pounds) and Tate Nichter (172) of Chambersburg won the PIAA District 3 Class 3A championships on Saturday.

Shindledecker beat Dover’s Mason Leiphart 4-2 in the final, while Nichter edged Daniel Boone’s Tucker Hogan 6-5 in the final.

Both wrestlers won places in the Super Regional in Altoona next Saturday.

Chambersburg 64, Harrisburg 53

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Jacob Bassham scored 21 points and the Trojans won their fourth in a row game Saturday.

Gus Mace scored 16 and Jayden Jones added 13 for Chambersburg (4-12, 3-9 Mid-Penn Commonwealth).

Janye Stanley scored 25 points for Harrisburg (5-8).

Chambersburg 41, Terre Rouge 31

LEWISBERRY, Pa. – Erin Pattillo scored 11 points to lead the Trojans past Red Land (2-14) in the season finale on Saturday.

Kiki Walker scored seven points and Joelle Rheam added six points for Chambersburg (6-11).

Shepherd 86, South Virginia 61

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Marley McLaughlin had 29 points and five interceptions to lead the Rams past the Knights in Shepherd’s season opener on Saturday.

Sydney Clayton had 18 points and six rebounds, and Abby Beeman added 14 points and 12 assists for the Rams.

Shepherd separates from two games at the Glenville State tournament

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Shepherd beat Tiffin 5-2 and fell in Charleston 3-0 at the Glenville State Tournament on Saturday.
