MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The WVU Sports Department announced on Saturday that some fans will be able to watch the climbers at the Colosseum starting January 30.
In a press release, the sports department indicates that attendance will be capped at 1,000 spectators. Priority will be given to families and guests of players and coaches, as well as a limited number of WVU students.
There will be no public sale of men’s basketball tickets games. The university says eligible Mountaineer Athletic Club members at Mountaineer Scholar level and above will be contacted regarding ticket availability and parking in the coming days.
A face mask will be required from all spectators except those who eat and drink.
“We are delighted to be able to welcome a limited number of fans to the Colosseum for home events,” WVU sporting director Shane Lyons said in a statement. “Safety will remain our priority as we still have to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, but this is a start to getting Mountaineer fans back to where they want to be.”
WVU officials say they will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and make changes to attendance policy, based on current health conditions.
The first one game Mountaineer fans welcome to Colosseum for men’s basketball game vs. Florida on Jan.30.
