With working from home becoming a norm for many this year and an increase in demand for OTT benefits, 2020 has seen carriers come up with affordable broadband plans. Let’s take a look at these plans offered by Airtel, BSNL and Jio under Rs 1500.
Airtel Unlimited Rs 499 broadband plan: This broadband package offers unlimited internet access with a speed of up to 40 Mbps and other additional benefits such as subscription to Airtel XStream, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
Airtel Premium Rs 799 broadband plan: This broadband package offers unlimited internet access with a speed of up to 70 Mbps and other additional benefits such as subscription to Airtel XStream, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
At the time of writing this article, the site Airtel web shows Rs 499 and Rs 799 as basic broadband plans. However, last month some users noticed that the base plans were revised to Rs 589 and Rs 943 respectively.
Airtel Entertainment broadband plan at Rs 999: The Airtel XStream entertainment broadband plan offers unlimited internet access and high-speed calls up to 200 Mbps. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
Airtel Ultra high speed plan at Rs 1499: The Airtel XStream ultra-broadband plan offers unlimited internet connection with speed up to 300 Mbps and unlimited local and STD calls. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 449 broadband plan: When BSNL rolled out its broadband plans in October, it announced it would be for a 90-day promotional period. We have to see if the telecom regulates this plan. The rs 449 broadband plan, also known as the Basic Fiber plan, offers a speed of 30 Mbps up to a speed of 3.3 TB or a limit of 3300 GB FUP. Once the FUP limit is reached, the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps. Users opting for this plan will also benefit from unlimited voice calls to any network in India. BSNL made this plan widely available in all circles except Andaman and Nicobar.
BSNL Rs 599 Fiber Basic Plus broadband plan: It’s another basic broadband plan put in place by the government telecommunications company last week. As of now, this plan offers FTTH services. This plan offers speeds of 60 Mbps up to 3300 GB. The plan includes unlimited data benefits for users. Once users exhaust the monthly FUP limit, speeds will be reduced to 2 Mbps. However, there is no limit on the number of users who can upload or download at speeds of 2 Mbps after reaching the FUP limit.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 799 wideband plan: This plan offers a speed of 100 Mbps up to 3300 GB or 3.3 TB. Once the FUP limit is reached the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps.
BSNL Premium Fiber Rs 999 broadband plan: The BSNL Fiber Premium broadband plan offers a speed of 200 Mbps for Rs 999 up to 3300 GB or 3.3 TB, after which the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps. This plan includes a free premium Disney + Hotstar membership.
BSNL Ultra Fiber Rs 1499 wideband plan: This plan from BSNL offers speeds of up to 300Mbps until 4TB or 4000GB is reached. After the FUP limit, the speed is reduced to 4 Mbps. This plan also offers unlimited calling benefits on any network in the country. This plan also includes a free premium membership to DIsney + Hotstar.
JioFiber has broadband plans starting at Rs 399 Rs 699. These plans offer truly unlimited internet access at 30 Mbps and 60 Mbps respectively. These plans do not come with any OTT subscriptions, but offer unlimited calling.
Jio Rs 999 broadband plan which comes with truly unlimited internet with upload and download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The plan also provides unlimited voice calls and access to 11 OTT apps including Amazon Prime, Disney + Hotstar worth Rs 1000. Other packages are slightly higher.
JioFiber Diamond broadband plan: The Diamond Plan costs Rs 1,499 and offers unlimited internet access with upload and download speeds capped at 300Mbps. Apart from providing unlimited voice calls, it also offers a free subscription to 12 OTT apps at no additional cost.
Users can also consider Excitel’s broadband plans that offer unlimited data with speed of 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps and 300 Mbps at Rs 699, Rs 849 and Rs 999 respectively for one month validity in 13 cities.
Airtel, BSNL and Jio offer a range of broadband plans which start at a monthly price of Rs 399. BSNL recently introduced a broadband plan for Rs 599 which offers speeds of 60 Mbps with up to 3300 GB of data.
