BLACKSBURG – There’s a new 3-point queen in Blacksburg and her name is Aisha Sheppard. On Thursday night, Tech’s All-ACC shooting guard knocked down four 3s and became the all-time top scorer at 3 points on the program with 273 career trebles to his name.
The Alexandria, Va. Native owns the one-season mark of 84 playoffs last season and is filling it at an historic rate in her senior campaign where she leads the country with 54 3s and leads the 3 par. game among the student-athletes who participated in 11 games or more.
Sheppard holds the highest score for the 3 in a single contest with eight, a feat she has accomplished twice in her career. She has already passed the 1000 point mark and climbs Virginia Tech annals in this category as well, currently in 14th place with 1,267.
She also ranks 10th all-time in the ACC in 3.
