(Reuters) – Hackers have infiltrated nearly 2,000 accounts of fintech startup Robinhood Markets Inc and siphoned off client funds, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing someone with knowledge of an internal review.
Robinhood was now considering adding a phone number along with other tools, according to the report.
Last week, the Menlo Park, Calif., Based company said some customers may have become targets of hackers due to the compromise of their personal email accounts outside of its platform.
Robinhood did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.
