DECATUR, MAL. – With its new Animal Nutrition Technology Center of Decatur, ADM seeks to create a dynamic environment where customers can collaborate with ADM on research, development and testing of ingredients and nutritional solutions for the animal feed industry, all in one place. .
The facility is a game-changer for customers and ADM, said Ryan Lane, president of ADM Animal Nutrition, North America. It includes equipment, labs, and an interactive kitchen, so customers can work with ADM on specialty ingredients and innovations for pet food and aquaculture feed.
The facility opened in December 2019. Decatur is the headquarters of ADM’s North American commercial division.
The center is equipped with both laboratory and pilot-scale capabilities, allowing new product development to be tested before large-scale production. A pilot extrusion space that handles multiple small batches of food, feed and treats in a single day works to assess the functionality of ingredients.
