Customers of private lender Axis Bank will soon be able to access basic banking services through the messaging service WhatsApp at any time, including holidays, the company said on March 3.
“The service will be available to both customers and non-customers of the bank, it is completely secure as it operates on a secure end-to-end encrypted messaging channel,” it said in a statement.
The service will also be available at any time, including holidays.
According to the lender, the service allows customers to request information about their account balance, recent transactions, credit card payments, fixed and recurring deposit details.
They can also have their queries answered in real time.
Apart from basic services, WhatsApp Banking can also be used to request information about the nearest branch, ATM or credit center.
Customers can also request different banking products. It can also be used to block their credit or debit card.
