Brits are shopping earlier than usual for Christmas this year, department store chain boss John Lewis said on Friday. “We also saw a lot of early purchases of gift products and so on,” Pippa Wicks, executive director of John Lewis told reporters.

“I think people are actually considering buying for Christmas because they want to be sure they can get it,” she said. She added that Christmas 2020 will be mostly online for the department store chain.

“We’re 60% online, I expect this to continue, it might even increase a bit.”
