ALLEN PARK – The Detroit Lions interviewed 12 men from various backgrounds and specialties for their vacant GM position. That’s four times the number of candidates they interviewed before hiring Bob Quinn in 2016.
But they transported just one of them to Allen Park for a second interview.
And a day later, the Lions officially announced Brad Holmes as their new general manager.
“On behalf of the entire Lions organization, I am delighted to welcome Brad Holmes to Detroit,” said Sheila Ford Hamp, after making his first major hire as team owner. “Several weeks ago when we embarked on this process, it was essential that we find the right fit to meet our vision for this team. It was obvious from the start that Brad is a proven leader ready to seize this opportunity. We are delighted to present him to our fans as a member of our football family.
