BSNL, a public telecommunications player, and Swedish telecom manufacturer Ericsson have signed a memorandum of understanding on 5G and the Internet of Things.

The two will create a common roadmap for the development of 5G and IoT in India, said a joint statement to the media. This new partnership with BSNL and Ericsson develop ‘cases of 5G use, sharing knowledge about 5G technology concepts, industry trends and innovation, including progress in standardization 3GPP “.

With this MoU, BSNL will use Ericsson’s 5G Center of Excellence at IIT Delhi to assess the benefits of 5G in areas such as rural connectivity, connected healthcare, industrial automation, public safety, video surveillance, energy, and agriculture.
