In this news, we discuss the Ethiopian government says senior politician linked to rebellion in Tigray region surrenders
The Ethiopian government said on Tuesday that a senior politician linked to the rebellion in the northern Tigray region had surrendered.
“One of the nine TPLF central committee chiefs, Keria Ibrahim, surrendered to federal forces,” said a tweet from the government task force Tigray, using the acronym for Tigray People’s Liberation Front, a political party that leads the fight against the government in Addis Ababa.
Tigrayan forces were not immediately available for comment. Complaints from all parties are difficult to verify as telephone and internet communications with the region are interrupted and access is tightly controlled.
