LONDON (Reuters) – The Facebook Libra-backed cryptocurrency project Libra has appointed a former HSBC executive as CFO of a unit tasked with managing the planned digital currency payment system, a- he said Thursday.
The Geneva-based Libra Association, which is seeking regulatory approval for the project, said in a statement it had appointed Ian Jenkins as chief financial officer and chief risk officer for Libra Networks.
Jenkins is the former head of corporate finance and managing director of HSBC group.
