With the announcement of the Intergrade DLC, it’s unknown when to expect part 2 of the FF7 Remake. But as time goes on, it’ll only get more expensive.
During Sony’s State of Play live event, one of the big announcements was the addition of a future paid DLC pack for Final Fantasy VII Remake called Intergrade. The expansion will follow the story of Yuffie Kisaragi, a member of Cloud’s party later in the original game. Although she is not present in the original until after the initial area, Yuffie has apparently travelled to Midgar for her own mission. This isn’t the news about the sequel that many were hoping for, but it was probably meant to keep us going until it’s finished.
The original Final Fantasy VII was considered a hugely influential game that captured the hearts of many gamers, so much so that since its release in 1997, they were begging to revisit Midgar. For many fans, Final Fantasy VII Remake was a dream come true for decades. But it hasn’t been an easy road for Square Enix; the remake was announced back in 2015 and it took until mid-2020 for it to finally come out. Even then, this was just the first part, focusing exclusively on Midgar. It’s unknown how long it may be before the second part comes out.
