Sucker Punch released Ghost of Tsushima last year, to great commercial success and acclaim, and followed suit with a free cooperative update called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Now it looks like the studio may be working on another multiplayer game for PS5. According to a recently discovered job listing on the Sucker Punch official website, qualified applicants will be responsible for helping the existing multiplayer team with a “spectacular multiplayer game.”
The wording of the job posting indicates that this is something completely separate from Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, so it does not appear that this role is being fulfilled to help with future updates in this way. It’s also extremely safe to assume that this game will only be available on the PS5, as cross-generation PS4 titles are unlikely to be released as time goes on.
Sucker Punch Productions is one of many studios under the Sony Worldwide Studios umbrella and also created the Infamous franchise during the PlayStation 3 era. Ghost of Tsushima was very successful for the studio, selling over 6.5 million copies to date. date, and a movie is being planned.
A job posting discovered last year indicated that Sucker Punch was hiring a team to work on a game with a “desire to write stories set in feudal Japan”, likely indicating that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will appear in the future for the PS5. It is unclear if this is for the same game as the multiplayer position or if separate projects are currently being worked on.
Looking ahead, there are still some great PS5 exclusives coming out quite soon, like Housemarque’s sci-fi roguelike Returnal and Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
