Haryana govt launches mobile water testing labs

In this news, we discuss the Haryana govt launches mobile water testing labs.

The Haryana government has launched a mobile water analysis laboratory van, fully equipped with a multi-parameter system containing analyzers, sensors, probes and instruments to assess water quality, announced. Monday the ministry of Jal Shakti. The water quality in Haryana is primarily affected by constituents such as total dissolved solids (TDS), fluoride, nitrate, iron, and alkalinity. The work of the Jal Jeevan mission, which aims to provide tap water to rural households by 2024, is being carried on on a war footing with a strong emphasis on monitoring and monitoring the quality of water. water, the ministry said in a statement.

“Recognizing the urgent need for water analysis, the government of Haryana proposed a new approach by launching a state-of-the-art mobile water analysis laboratory van, fully equipped with a multi-parameter system containing analyzers / sensors / probes / instruments intended for water analysis, ”the statement said. This mobile water analysis lab is GPS compatible for location tracking. The analyzed sample data can be transmitted to a centralized server in the public health engineering department via GPRS / 3G connectivity with back-up power.

It also provides on-site recording and reporting of results via a smartphone or similar device with the ability to send the results directly to a central secure web-based server. This mobile van also features fully automated sensor-based analysis controlled by centralized software. The LED display unit in the mobile lab gives instant display of results immediately after analysis.

The laboratory is able to measure different water quality parameters such as pH, alkalinity, TDS, hardness, residual chlorine, zinc, nitrite, fluoride, turbidity and microbiological testing of samples of water. This will help to quickly identify the water quality problem on site at a site, the statement said.

The mobile test van will be parked at the National Water Analysis Laboratory, Karnal, and its area of operation will span all of Haryana. “This new facility will provide access to a water testing facility even in the most remote corner of the state. Additionally, in the event of a waterborne disease outbreak, these vans can be deployed onsite for efficient management and quick access to water analysis reports. “In addition, they can also be used for the counter-quality control of the tests of all laboratories,” the statement said.

The Jal Jeevan mission places a lot of emphasis on water quality monitoring and tracking, she said. It requires that in each village five people, especially women, be trained in the use of “field test kits” so that the water can be analyzed.
