At the time of writing, we are only a few hours from the launch of the Huawei P40 series. While the standard model and the Huawei P40 Pro leaked heavily, a third model – previously called the Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition – did this elusive. Now maybe we know more about it.

The first thing we need to know is that it may not be called P40 Pro Premium Edition after all, because Roland Quandt (a reliable glitch) tweeted the name Huawei P40 Pro Plus 5G. So if this isn’t another model, it’s probably the name of the premium premium handset.

Huawei P40 Pro + 5G
Kirin 990 5G
12 GB RAM
120 Hz screen
same size as pro
Two telephoto cameras with up to 10x optical zoom
Faster charging, but ~ same battery size as Pro
Available in summer

– Roland Quandt (@ rquandt) March 25, 2020

But Quandt not only tweeted the name, but also tweeted a number of specs, including a refresh rate of 120 Hz on the screen (while the Huawei P40 Pro is said to be only 90 Hz) and 12 GB of RAM (compared to a rumor) 8 GB for the Pro) and dual telephoto cameras with up to 10x optical zoom.

The Huawei P40 Pro Plus 5G apparently also charges faster than the P40 Pro, but has the same battery. Based on previous rumors, the Huawei P40 Pro has a 4,200 mAh battery and 40 W charge.

The Huawei P40 Pro Plus 5G would also have a Kirin 990 chipset (which is probably identical to the rest of the range) and apparently the same size as the Huawei P40 Pro, which could mean that it has a 6.58-inch screen based on previous rumors. Finally, Quandt claims that the phone will be available in the summer, so it may have to wait for it to be bought.

Elsewhere, Ishan Agarwal (another treat with a good track record) has provided detailed specifications for the Huawei P40 Pro.

More precise specifications:
6.58 “OLED 90 Hz 2640 × 1200 display, Kirin 990, 50 MP Super Sensing Main (F / 1.9, OIS) + 40 MP Movie Cam (F / 1.8) + 12 MP Ultra Sensing Tele (F / 3,4, OIS, 5X Optical, 10X Hybrid, 50x digital zoom) + 3D depth detection camera, 32 MP (F / 2.2) + depth front camera (1/2) https://t.co/l3M6tF3vcr pic.twitter.com/umZMbEEhU1

– Ishan Agarwal (@ ishanagarwal24) March 26, 2020

He claims he has a 6.58-inch OLED display with 1200 x 2640 90 Hz, a Kirin 990 chipset, an on-screen fingerprint scanner, a 4,200 mAh battery, wired 40 W charging, wireless charging 27 W and wireless charging with 5 W.

The camera apparently contains a 50MP 1: 1.9 main lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP 1: 1.8 ‘Movie Cam’ (presumably for video), a 12MP 1: 3.4 telesensor with OIS, 5 -fold optical zoom and 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom as well as a 3D depth detection camera. In addition, there appears to be a 32-megapixel front camera that is coupled to a depth sensor.

Finally, the Huawei P40 Pro apparently has an IP68 rating for water resistance, dimensions of 158.2 x 72.6 x 8.95 mm and a weight of 209 g. Agarwal even included an official promotional image showing the phone – and FreeBuds 3 if you pre-order it.

The picture and specs are largely in line with what we saw and heard before and so close to launch that they will most likely be accurate, but we will know for sure soon.
