In this news, we discuss the Indian Railways rolls out user depot module across Western Railway.
Indian Railways has deployed the User Depot (UDM) module developed by the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) digitally to all Western Railway user depots. “The User Depot (UDM) module developed by CRIS (Center for Railway Information Systems) has been digitally deployed in all User Depots of Western Railway by PC Sharma, member (T&RS) on 09/28/2020”, reads a press release of the Ministry of Railways.
The ministry said the system will be implemented shortly in all areas of Indian Railways. “The supply chain from the railroad to the warehouse depots has already been digitized, but the activities on the user side are done manually. The implementation of this system will bring transformational changes from manual work to digital work with real-time transactions and online information exchange between all stakeholders. This will ensure the digitization of the entire supply chain, including user repositories, ”he said.
The system will also facilitate economy, efficiency and transparency in addition to better asset management. This will improve the level of service and customer satisfaction, the ministry said. (ANI)
